Belle had not gone away for the holidays but she also hadn't gotten out much while remaining on the island. She'd spent most of her time holed up with books and mugs of tea.

"Welcome back," she said as she paused outside Eleanor's door, holding an armful of pilfered snacks from a common room. Sometimes you needed fuel while doing marathon reading sessions.
